Verizon Starts Pushing Out Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) to the Galaxy Nexus

So yesterday on Google+, there was a young lady, who asked a very simple question of whether or not it would be interesting if Verizon released Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) for the Galaxy Nexus. I in my infinite wisdom, thought this was a crazy idea. Why would Verizon, resident delayer of all things update related, put out the update with no rumor-mongering on the interwebs at all? Well, to all of our surprises, Verizon has gone and released Jelly Bean. I mean, honest to goodness, Jelly Bean. I’m almost speechless. Almost. I won’t ruin this good news with a rant about how Verizon  AND Google should both be to blame for the Galaxy Nexus (and other Nexus devices)  not receiving the most current updates as they are available, so I’ll just say this, if you own a Galaxy Nexus from Verizon, you might want to see if the update is ready for your phone. That’s exactly what I’m about to do!
