Launched in the fall of 2010.
A project I would love to see flourish, but hasn’t seemed to gain mass appeal, yet.
The first Google TV products the Logitech Revue, Sony’s Google TV box and standalone TV’s we’re the first introduction to Google’s play, no pun intended, for your living room. Fast forward to 2011, the Logitech Revue has been since, deemed a failure by Logitech, and no other outstanding news for the platform, outside of an announcement that newer partners will be bringing new devices to Google TV. Partners, which included, Vizio.
Just before Google I/O this year, Vizio announced the Co-Star, one of the newest editions to Google TV. The kicker for the Co-Star, was that the device was to be the first Google TV device offer OnLive’s streaming videogame service. Today, pre-orders are available, from Vizio, for the Co-Star at an affordable $99.99. You can order the Co-Star here.
Here’s to hoping that Vizio can kickstart some interest in the Google TV platform.
