A few days ago, Modbook released a few teaser pics via their Facebook page. Well, now it seems their website is live, with the Modbook Pro at center stage. If this company and device sound familiar, then you must now about the original Modbook. A few years ago a company called Axiotron was blessed with the green light to mod Apple Macbooks into tablets. The OG Modbook was first shown off at MacWorld in 2007, and in 2009, the Modbook Pro was seen sporting a 15″ screen. The Modbook Pro has since been a lasting memory of a very promising device, which sadly never came to market.
Here is a video showing the original Modbook conversion.
Today has seen the Modbook Pro rise from exile back to the forefront of Apple modding. The Modbook Pro is being said to be ideal for the creative user. It’s made from the 13″ Macbook Pro and the screen touts a stunning display with maximum pressure sensitivity for its Wacom digitizer pen. It will come with an Intel i5 or i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, a SSD hard drive with up to 1 TB of storage, *X SuperDrive dvd burner, 802.11n Wifi, and Bluetooth 4.0.
Pricing has not been released, and the Modbook will be available fall 2012.
