Today. Verizon has announced its plan to move their blazing fast 4G LTE speeds into your living room. I know, you’re thinking, “I already have a 4G phone that I tether”. Well Verizon apparently feel like giving you a dedicated device for your house is a better idea.
Here’s how it works. Verizon will have someone come out to install an antenna to the outside of your residence. The antenna is actually made up of multiple internal antennae, specifically built to pick up Verizon’s 4G LTE signal. The signal is then transmitted to a broadband router inside the home. Verizon is expecting its HomeFusion customers to get 5-12 Mbps download and 2-5 upload speeds.
Data plan pricing seems to be set slightly lower than its phone counterparts.
- $60 – 10GB
- $90 – 20GB
- $120 – 30GB
The HomeFusion system will cost $199 for the equipment and installation is free. This is definitely a step toward getting internet access to everyone, plus it doesn’t hurt to tout these new additions to their 4G subscriber numbers. Who’s gonna give this a look?
