Coming off a lucrative holiday push, and talk of , Barnes & Noble seems to be eyeing a whole new Nook. The Nook Color and Nook Tablet saw good sales, while the e-Ink based Nook Touch, fell below expectations. Julie Bosman, reporting for The New York Times, spoke to Barnes & Noble CEO about the state of the company and it’s rivalry with Amazon. The article went on to quote an unnamed Barnes & Noble executive as saying that a fifth-generation Nook would be appearing this Spring.
Now it’s anyone’s guess as to where the new Nook would fit in, especially, with the new Nook Tablet sitting as the direct competition to the Kindle Fire. Maybe, they plan to revamp the Nook Touch with a new Mirasol display? I, for one, wouldn’t mind seeing that option. I guess we’ll all have to wait and see what happens next.
