RIM PlayBook, Now with Android Apps?

It has been floating around the water cooler that RIM has a little something special up their sleeve, the BlackBerry PlayBook might run Android apps! The QNX OS that runs on the PlayBook shares the Posix standard that is also in Google’s Android OS. This means that at least in theory, the PlayBook will be able to run apps, from Google’s Android Marketplace, on top of the QNX OS. This is all based on whether RIM will attempt to do this and if Google will allow it to happen. This move would allow RIM to have not only their App World, but also Android Marketplace. It would be the two headed monster, of consumer and enterprise appeal, that they might need in order to chip away at the iPad.
